|
NEWSWEDNESDAY, MAY 20th, 2009 - Lots of things happening in the world of BROTHERS PAST. For starters, we're excited to announce the band has been added to the bill of Camp Bisco 8, which will be held at Indian Lookout Country Club in Mariahville, NY. The bill includes The Disco Biscuits, STS9, Nas and Damian Marley as well as a set from one of our favorite Philly bands, Dr. Dog. Tickets for The Big F'ing Boat have been selling quickly and will likely be sold out before the day of the show. So if you're planning on coming, order yours RIGHT NOW (like, seriously.) To help commemorate the occasion, our good friends at ABNRML have designed a very cool limited edition silk screen poster, which is viewable here. These posters will be available for purchase on the boat, but there are only 150 of them so get yours quickly! More announcements coming soon! WEDNESDAY, APR 1, 2009 - Are you ready for a tour? A three-hour tour? BROTHERS PAST is taking to the water in May for the latest incarnation of the BIG F'ing BOAT, a BP tradition if ever there was one. The boat sets sail Saturday, May 23, so save the date! Tickets go on sale Friday, April 3 at noon. We're also very excited to be performing at the Summer Solstice Projekt which will be held in Harmony, MD the weekend of June 18-20. Joining us will be the Egg, Shpongle, Kevin Sawka and many more. Stay tuned for occasional summer dates. TUESDAY, FEB 24, 2009 - If you haven't heard the news yet, BROTHERS PAST is returning to Boston on Friday, April 10 for a night of mayhem and madness at the Middle East. It's been some time since the band has been to Boston, one of our favorite cities to play and one of our least favorite to drive in. Rounding out the bill will be our good friends Indobox. Tickets are on sale now through Ticketmaster. Demand is limited so buy them today! MONDAY, FEB 2, 2009 - We are very excited to announce a special late-night show on Friday, March 6th, in Hampton, VA with Future Rock! The Mercury Entertainment Center is only minutes away from the Hampton Colliseum, so head on over after Phish to continue the party until the wee hours of the morning. The music kicks off at 11pm and will run extra-late. This is an all-ages show. Tickets are $25 and will be on sale Friday, 2/6, at 10AM. Thanks to our friends at EQ Produktions for making this evening one you won't soon forget! FRIDAY, DEC 12, 2008 - Tickets for our Colorado show go on sale TODAY at 12 noon. If you're looking to be a part of the late night dance party at Cervante's on Friday, Feb. 13, then pick up tickets today. We're expecting demand to be high. You can buy your tickets here or here. See you in the Rockies! MONDAY, DEC 8, 2008 - Ready for some BROTHERS PAST in 2009? Then head for the Rockies! The band will perform a special show at Cervante's in Denver, CO on Friday, Feb. 13. Details are still being finalized, but the show will be a late-night affair that will likely carry on into the wee hours of the morning. Tickets on sale now! Judging by how quickly New Year's Eve sold out (37 minutes!) we expect demand to be high. In other news, the band digitally released a portion of its back catalog recently through a deal with Nashville's Dualtone Records. Both A Wonderful Day and statEPolice are now available on iTunes. To help commemorate the occasion, the band will dig into its archive and offer up a free download for fans. Beginning this week, fans will be able to download a segment of the band's Nov. 6, 2004 performance at the Pour House in Raleigh, N.C. The segments includes portions of fan favorites "Too Late to Call," "The Mirror," "Big Blue Apples" and "The Ceiling." The segment will be hosted here. See you all on New Year's Eve! FRIDAY, OCT 3, 2008 - Tickets to our New Years Eve Party at The Note have sold out through our ticket vendors, but there are still a few tickets available through our friends at ConsiderItDan. See you in December! THURSDAY, OCT 2, 2008 - Tickets to our New Years Eve Party go on sale Friday, October 3 at noon through Music Today. Capacity for this show is tiny, and we expect these tickets to go fast. Don't get left out in the cold! For our good friends coming in from out of town (and there are a lot of you it seems), our good friends over at Consider It Dan will be putting together travel packages that include tickets to the show, transportation to and from Philadelphia, as well as local hotel packages. Details are still being finalized but in the meantime email info@consideritdan.com with any questions. MONDAY, SEPT 29, 2008 - Hey all. A few weeks back we played some music at a friend's party and had a good old time doing it. From the looks of things, some of you did too. So .... we're gonna do it again. But this time we're gonna do it on New Year's Eve, in West Chester, where it all began. Tom, Tom, Clay and Rick at The Note. The place is brand new and it's swanky. We want you to come. Tickets go on sale through Ticketmaster Friday morning. See you there! WEDNESDAY SEPT 12, 2007 - A few new shows to announce and regrettably one cancellation. This Saturday's Boston Boat show has been cancelled due to a logistical issue with the boat schedule. Unfortunately, as we get later into the fall weather, a decision has been made to not reschedule the show. Refunds for those who already purchased tickets can be done through Rocks On Concerts at www.rockonconcerts.com. Brothers Past apologizes for any inconvenience this change has caused and look forward to getting back to Boston when the schedule permits. Moving to more upbeat news, the band has scheduled a few upcoming shows and a few more are in the works. After this Friday's show for the Cornell community (private show, though all Cornell alum are invited) the next public gig occurs on Saturday, September 29 at the revamped Santa Fe Cafe in College Park, MD. Jumping ahead to Friday, November 16, Brothers Past returns to our old stomping ground in Maryland for a show at the 8 x 10, in Baltimore. On Wednesday, November 21, Brothers Past continues the Thanksgiving Eve tradition with our third annual River St Jazz Cafe shindig, in Wilkes Barre, PA. These shows have become a favorite, as many can attest. Tickets are on sale now for all of these shows. Taking a glance into December, Brothers Past has planned a special Friday, December 28th concert at the beautiful Highline in New York City. Tickets have already gone on sale for this event, which is set to start at 12:30 AM (with doors just before midnight) and should run to 4 AM and possibly beyond. In addition, the band is working on scheduling another show or two in the Pennsylvania area, one being a hometown gig. We have also been working for quite a while on making a return trip to Chicago for one of the holidays. We will keep you posted. THURSDAY JUNE 28 - BROTHERS PAST is ready for this Friday's (June 29) Rocks Off Concert Cruise aboard the Temptress in NYC. Our ship is docked on 41 St and West Side Drive and will be boarding at 9:30 PM and sets sail at 10:30 PM sharp! The cruise around Lady Liberty is always a treat. Tickets are $25 in advance and you must be 18 or over to board. More information and tickets can be found here. In other news, BROTHERS PAST would like to announce another special trip to Chicago for the Riverview Music Festival. This event is taking place on August 25 and 26, with Brothers Past performing on Sunday Aug 26 at 3 PM, on the main stage. Additionally, BROTHERS PAST and the Beat Kitchen (just around the corner from the festival site) will host Sunday's official late night show. The show at the Beat Kitchen is 18+ and is scheduled for 11:30 PM. Be sure to get your tickets in advance for what is sure to be a full house. Information, the full lineup and tickets for both the festival and late night performance are available at the River View Music Festival web site. Lastly, BROTHERS PAST has rescheduled the August 4, Rock On Groove Cruise in Boston, MA. to Saturday, September 15. We apologize for any inconvenience this change has caused. For tickets and more information on this inaugural ride around the Boston Harbor, please visit Rock On Concerts web site. Mon, April 9 - Spring Tour is in full-swing and the activity continues this Wednesday as BROTHERS PAST begins a string of concerts with Umphrey's McGee, starting with the Calvin Theater in Northampton, MA. On Thursday, both bands slide over to Boston to rock The Avalon. Friday, BROTHERS PAST will perform a special headlining show at BB Kings in New York City (Doors at midnight), with the show beginning immediately after Umphrey's concludes their performance around the corner at the Nokia Theater. This show is not to be missed! Saturday, the band returns to Washington, DC and the 9:30 Club, again in support of Umphrey's. The remainder of April has the band returning to the Midwest for a 9-day run that includes a two-night stand at the Beat Kitchen, as part of Chicago's Green Apple Music Festival, on April 20 and 21. In May, BROTHERS PAST has lined-up three big shows on successive Saturdays. First, May 12 the band returns to Baltimore for our first appearance at Sonar. The following Saturday, May 19, we come back to our favorite home stomping ground in Philadelphia, the World Cafe Live. Then for Memorial Day weekend, Brothers Past will again make the trip out to Chillicothe, IL, to participate in the Summer Camp Music Festival. NEW NEWS - The summer brings a whole new agenda as the band plans to be working on loads of new material during these months. Therefore, the schedule will be limited to only a few special events and festivals, which we are prepared to announce today. On Saturday, June 9, Brothers Past is excited to be a part of the Starscape Music Festival in Baltimore, MD. Details can be found here. Next, it is time to announce our annual NYC Big F%*#in Boat Cruise, set to leave port on Friday, June 29. Tickets are available at the Rocks Off Web site. More information is available at Rock On Concerts. For the most up-to-date show information visit our tour page. Thu, March 15 - BROTHERS PAST's southern sprint, hit full stride last night. Thanks to all who came out. Tonight the band goes into high gear for a full night of music at the Visulite Theater In Charlotte, NC. Special guest Recycled Sound will open the night with his great vibe, followed by Washington Lane, before two sets of Brothers Past. Friday night the band visits The Pour House, in one of our favorite cities, Charleston, SC. Saturday night brings a return to Smith's Olde Bar in Atlanta, to cap off the run. In other news, a new multi-tracked soundboard from November's show at Cleveland's Grog Shop, is now available at Archive.org. This recording, done by Scott Schneider, is mixed so well by Rich Steele that it even masks much of the debauchery that occurred, especially in the second set. And in the spirit of sharing more live soundboard recordings, for the next month or so, BP Radio will host Tuesday night Listening Parties! Every Tuesday night an unreleased show will be streamed well into the morning hours. We are looking forward to our two-night stand in Chicago as part of the Green Apple Festival, but some of you may not know we are returning to the area Memorial Day weekend for Summer Camp 2007 at Three Rivers Park in Chillicothe, IL. Visit the Summer Camp web site for more information about the festival and ordering tickets. Lastly, Brothers Past has a new t-shirt available at our merch store. Larry Napolitano provided the design we call the Centipede. The American Apparel shirts are a new style Ringer tee and are offered in two colors. The first is a white shirt with red rings and a red and yellow design, the other is a silver shirt with asphalt rings and an asphalt and cobalt blue design. Tues, Feb 27 - The weather may disagree, but for BROTHERS PAST, Spring starts this weekend! After being holed-up in our practice space working on new material, the band is now itching to get out and start tour at two venues that have provided many memories and much mayhem. Everything kicks-off Friday March 2 when we expect things to heat-up both outside and inside Richmond's Canal Club. Existor will support, so come out early. Saturday, the band returns to Lancaster's Chameleon Club for a reunion with our fellow southeast PA friends and lunatics. The tour moves forward from there, with the complete schedule below. However, that does not mean the crew is not looking back to unearth more tasty bits from the fall for the Digital Downlow. Earlier in the month four new soundboard downloads (mp3 and flac) were added, including parts from our 12/29 performance at the World Cafe Live. You asked for more, so we put together another batch from this fun show. Meanwhile, Scott Schneider decided to reach further back for a multi-track of our second show last fall. He realized there was a lot to like from the Bell's Outdoor Garden's show and it just kept getting better, so we snatched a segment from the second set. More to come soon... including a full soundboard release of a November performance coming next week. COMPLETE SPRING TOUR 2007 Friday, March 2, THE CANAL CLUB, Richmond, VA Existor supports Tues, Feb 6- The Spring Tour schedule is complete! For starters, we are pleased to extend our long weekend with Umphrey's McGee, by adding a concert in Northampton, MA, on Wednesday, April 11 at the Calvin Theatre. The remainder of the weekend includes supporting Umphrey's Thursday, April 12 at the Avalon in Boston and Saturday, April 14 at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC. Friday, April 13 is a special late night headlining show at BB King's main room in New York City. The rest of April will be busy, as BROTHERS PAST embarks on a Midwest run beginning Thursday, April 19 in Morgantown, WV at 123 Pleasant Street. The weekend kicks into high gear on Friday and Saturday, April 20 and 21, with the band returning for a two-night stand at the Beat Kitchen in Chicago, as part of the Green Apple Festival. Ben Silver/Orchard Lounge will be joining us to create two seamless nights of music. A limited number of two-night tickets will be available. On Sunday, April 22, the band will make the quick jaunt up to Madison, WI for a show at the High Noon Saloon. The Midwest dates continue on Tuesday, April 24, at the Canopy Club in Urbana, IL. Thursday, April 26, the band will play Uncle Fester's in Bloomington, IN. On Friday and Saturday we visit two of our favorite stomping grounds. On April 27, BROTHERS PAST returns to the Magic Stick in Detroit, MI and on April 28, the show will be at the always wild Grog Shop in Cleveland, OH. In May, the band returns home for a couple of special Saturday engagements. First, on Saturday, May 12, BROTHERS PAST will headline Sonar in Baltimore. The following Saturday, May 19, the band stays home in Philly, returning to one of the best venues around, the World Cafe Live. Please get tickets in advance, since this show will likely sell-out, as may others like Chicago and Cleveland. Lastly, the Digital Downlow has been updated with some two-track soundboard segments from a couple of different shows late in 2006. First, only a two-track (subpar) board exists of a very fun and underrated Pearl Street, Northampton show. To hear it again, we challenged Richie to give it a whirl on the EQ to bump up the quality. He succeeded, so we decided to put up an excerpt of Set 1 and Set 2, warts and all. In contrast, it is easy to hear the difference when using a quality soundboard, as evidenced by the 12/29/06 recording at the World Cafe Live. A segment from the first set of this show is also now available. Additionally, two nights later on New Years Eve, the band had fun with BP/Beatles mashups at BB King's in New York City. Again, although the soundboard this night wasn't stellar, we wanted to share a few of these unique songs. We hope you enjoy these recordings. Look for more music to be released in the near future. Song selection will span the past four decades, with an emphasis on the classics, and some of our own repertoire mixed in for good measure.
